The project wants to contribute to the main aim of the call by engaging in research, reflection and action to further develop justice enhancing mechanisms in DRC. Grounding in local political economy realities is ensured through the in-depth approach to research and the long-standing experience of the consortium in DRC. More specifically, the project aims to apply focused research to advance insights into displaced people’s justice needs, strategies and actual experiences with justice mechanisms. By building on interactive methodologies, the project aims to improve intervention methods and advance inter-provincial learning.
The ultimate objective is to strengthen the mediation and judicial structures displaced peoples can access in pursuit of justice, and to enhance their own claim-making-capacities in three different conflict-affected regions: South-Kivu, LRA-affected parts of Orientale province and areas in Equateur bordering the Central African Republic.
