Innocent Assumani Innocent works as a project officer at the Congolese NGO Groupe Jérémie. He is involved in various projects that promote peace and justice by raising awareness among people about their rights and by training legal officials. He is part of the Bukavu team and works especially in the Panzi neighbourhood.
José Bazonzi José Bazonzi is the local coordinator for the Equateur research team. He is based at the Université de Kinshasa in the faculty of social sciences, administration and politics and is also a researcher and teacher in the sociology department at the Centre d’Etudes Politiques.
Tatiana Carayannis Tatiana Carayannis is a Research Director of the JSRP and deputy director of the Social Science Research Council’s Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum where she leads on the CPPF’s Africa programmes. She has written widely on the networks of the Congo wars and the role of the UN in conflict management in Africa. Her research in this project focuses on Equateur.
Olivier Chibashimba Olivier Chibashimba works at the Cordaid Bukavu office as Security and Justice programme officer. He has a legal background and is part of the team on behalf of Cordaid.
Hélène Flaam Hélène Flaam is a Phd candidate at the Conflict Research Group at Ghent University. Her research focuses on public authority and justice in Haut-Uele.
Mignonne Fowlis Mignonne Fowlis is a Program Coordinator at the Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum at Social Science Research Council. Her research is focused on the Equateur province.
Dorothea Hilhorst Dorothea Hilhorst is professor of Humanitarian Aid and Reconstruction at the Intrenational Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research concerns the aidnography of humanitarian crises and fragile states. Her publications focus on the everyday practice of humanitarian aid, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, reconstruction and peace building. In this program, she will be involved in the research in South Kivu province.

Carolien Jacobs Carolien Jacobs is an assistant professor at the Van Vollenhoven Institute for Law, Governance and Development at Leiden University. In her research and teaching, she focuses especially on Africa. In this program, she will be involved in the research in South Kivu province.
Stanislas Lubala Kubiha Stanislas is connected to the Congolese NGO Innovation et Formation pour le Développement et la Paix (IFDP). IFDP works towards sustainable peace, fair justice and better governance of natural resources. Stanislas has been involved in research projects carried out by IFDP on governance of natural resources. He is a member of the Bukavu team. In his research he focuses on the commune of Bagira.
Jean-Claude Malitano Jean-Claude Malitano coordinates the research team based in Faradje in the Orientale province of eastern DRC. He is also a Coordinator of a Congolese NGO, Actions Pour la Promotion Rurale (APRU), which aims to identify and analyze the socio-economic problems facing communities in Faradje, and assist in the implementation of durable solutions.
Lebon Mulimbi Lebon Mulimbi is a researcher based in Bunyakiri in the South Kivu province of eastern DRC. He is also the Coordinator of a Congolese NGO, Action pour la Protection des Droits Humains et de Développement Communautaire (APDHUD) and a human rights defender.
Patrick Milabyo Kyamusugulwa Patrick Milabyo works at both the Institut Supérieur de Développement Rural (ISDR) and the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Médicales (ISTM) in Bukavu. He obtained his PhD at Wageningen University on community-driven reconstruction in the eastern DRC. In this research program, he will be part of the South Kivu team.
José Ndala José Ndala is a researcher in the districts of Nord-Ubangi and Sud-Ubangi in Equateur province. He is also a lecturer at the Université de Gbadolite in the faculty of law.
Aaron Pangburn Aaron Pangburn is a Program Coordinator at the Social Science Research Council’s Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum, based in New York. His research is focused in Equateur.

Ernest Sugule Ernest Sugule is the executive board director of the NGO SAIPED, Solidarity and Integral Assistance to Destitute People. Ernest is very active in promoting actions for peace and socioeconomic development for rural communities in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Koen Vlassenroot Koen Vlassenroot is a Professor and the Director of the Conflict Research Group at Ghent University and coordinator of the Accommodation of Justice research program. His research interests include rebel governance, land issues and the militarization of society in conflict zones.
